About the Company

AVOMO is the autonomous vehicle arm of the Moove Cars group, specializing in the maintenance and operations of self driving fleets. Our mission is to make urban mobility safer, more efficient, and sustainable. Backed by deep experience in fleet management, we deliver innovative solutions that drive the future of transportation.

About the Role:

The Lead Instructor is a dynamic, hands on leader responsible for delivering exceptional training across our autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet operations. You are the heartbeat of the training floor, equally comfortable mentoring your team of onsite instructors and stepping in to lead high stakes training sessions yourself. This role serves as the critical operational bridge between Fleet and Operations teams, ensuring that training requirements are met and that all staff are successfully guided from onboarding through to graduation. You balance direct training execution with dedicated team leadership, ensuring our training programs are practical, effective, and fully aligned with safety and partner standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-On Training Leadership: Lead by example by conducting direct classroom and field training sessions. Step in to take control of training to ensure quality, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Team Leadership & People Development: Manage, lead, and mentor the team of onsite Training Instructors (overseeing both Operations and Fleet trainers). Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure consistent, high-quality knowledge transfer.
  • Operational Integration & Training Lifecycle: Act as the primary operational bridge between Operations and Fleet departments. Ensure training requirements are seamlessly integrated into the daily workflow, tracking trainee progress from onboarding through final certification.
  • Applied Curriculum Optimization: Utilize partner training materials and systems to iterate on internal programs, focusing on real-world, field-ready applications. Ensure content evolves based on the needs of the training floor.
  • Operational Safety & Excellence: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary onsite technical expert, troubleshooting instructional or operational roadblocks as they arise.

Minimum requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years in adult education, automotive technology, or technical training (preferably including people management). Experience in the AV industry is a major plus.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor others and lead diverse teams in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Instructional Expertise: Strong understanding of adult learning principles and extensive experience in hands-on technical training delivery.
  • Communication & Adaptability: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships. Comfortable working in a 24/7 operational environment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace and a working knowledge of learning management platforms (Cornerstone or similar).
