About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead a team of skilled technicians—including both master and junior-level professionals—responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet. This individual will oversee preventive maintenance, complex diagnostics, and repair activities while driving operational excellence through collaboration and continuous improvement. The role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and cross-functional coordination with warranty, parts, and vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
• Allocate workload, schedule repairs, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.

Maintenance and Repair Operations

• Oversee all routine and complex maintenance tasks including diagnostics, repairs, and system evaluations.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Communication

• Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components and materials.
• Work closely with warranty teams to ensure accurate documentation and efficient claim processing.
• Build and maintain relationships with external service providers such as local body shops, remanufacturing partners, and recycling services.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Adapt maintenance strategies in response to evolving business needs and fleet changes.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies.

Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and inventory usage.
• Generate performance reports and analyze metrics to support data-driven decisions.
• Work closely in developing reporting and cadences to show fleet uptime and attend leadership/customer meetings to show fleet status and health.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in fleet maintenance or vehicle repair, with at least 2
• years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience managing both master and entry-level technicians.
• Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, and body work.
• Experience working with warranty claims and parts procurement systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to foster relationships with external vendors and service providers.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and maintenance tracking systems.

Nice to Have:

ASE Master Certification or equivalent

EPA 609 Certification

Familiarity with remanufacturing and environmentally sustainable maintenance practices

Background in working with a high-volume fleet (e.g., delivery, municipal, or service vehicles)

Working knowledge of Google Suite, Jira, SAP platforms

Other:

• Travel up to 20% of the time
• Must be on call and responsive for 24/7 operations
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Work may involve standing, bending, or kneeling in garage/shop environments
